Safe boating conduct should be observed at all times by Anglers/Coaches wearing the appropriate personal flotation device and following all state/federal navigation laws.
Boat Captains/Coaches, Anglers, parents/family members of Anglers participating in any KBN sanctioned event shall, always, conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Bassmaster Elite Series Pro, Jeff Gustafson, gives a few suggestions on things he does while fishing in the summer to protect the fish he catches
As of January 1, 2025, B.A.S.S. enacted a rule change stating, "any angler who
wishes to compete as a boater in any B.A.S.S. event (except High School and Junior events where competitors do not operate a boat) must submit proof of completion of an approved Boater Safety course."
Although for National B.A.S.S. High School and Junior events Boater Safety certificates are not required for boat captains -- these are required for KBN events. In efforts to ensure the highest standard of boating safety during our KBN Youth tournaments, all Boat Captains (although not competing) are required to verify their active boater safety certification prior to participating in any KBN event.
Please note, this is not currently required for student anglers, although we highly encourage student anglers to fill this form out as well.

If you plan to participate in Bassmaster Open tournaments, we recommend you click on the button. After your initial submission, the document will be recorded in your profile, and you will be eligible to compete in B.A.S.S. events. Since there is no expiration date, you will never need to resubmit.

Starting in 2025-2026, we'll now be livestreaming weigh-ins from our KBN events!
